Airshow fans wanting to say goodbye to the Canadian Snowbirds last demonstration in the CT-114 Tutor will have one final opportunity at the California Capital Airshow this October.

The Snowbirds announced their transition away from the Tutor in a May 19 press release as they transition to the CT-157 Siskin II, the Canadian designation for the Swiss Pilatus PC-21.  The 2026 season marks the last time the team will fly until the early 2030s, according to the release.

The California Capital Airshow is the last U.S. demonstration listed on the Snowbirds’ schedule, and Canadian authorities confirmed with Wingman that Sacramento will be the last time audiences in this country will be able to see the CT-114 formation flying.

“The Canadian government’s announcement that 2026 is the Snowbirds’ final season with their beloved CT-114 Tutors is a bittersweet moment for aviation fans everywhere,” California Capital Airshow Executive Director Darcy Brewer told Wingman. “In 55 years of flying, they’ve inspired millions. We’re humbled that the California Capital Airshow is where this legendary team will mark the end of an era. We hope fans from near and far will join us this October to witness history.”

The Canadian CT-114 Tutor entered service in 1963 and has been in use with the Snowbirds since 1971, according to Canada’s National Defence.

“The RCAF is incredibly proud of all members of 431 Air Demonstration Squadron for their service as Canadian Armed Forces ambassadors across the North American air show circuit,” Andrée-Anne Poulin of Canada’s National Defence media relations told Wingman in an email. “Fans of the Snowbirds are encouraged to see them perform during the Tutor’s final season in 2026.”

Following the California Capital Airshow, Poulin said there is one last homecoming demonstration planned at 431 Air Demonstration Squadron’s home base in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
