A medical transport helicopter crashed into Highway 50 Monday night, according to multiple news reports.

The three crew members on board, two women and one man, were transported to area hospitals in critical condition, according to Sacramento Fire Captain Justin Sylvia. One crew member was trapped under the wreckage, Sylvia said. There were no patients on board at the time of the crash.

Bystanders helped first responders extricate the crew from the helicopter, according to Sylvia.

Images from the scene published to multiple news channels show a red helicopter with the tail number N414RX. The helicopter is an Airbus EC-130 registered to Reach Air Medical Services LLC in Santa Rosa, according to FAA records.

REACH Air Medical Services is headquartered in McClellan (MCC), according to the organization’s website.
