If you didn’t get your fill of aviation from Oshkosh in July, or just can’t get enough aviation in general, here are seven aviation events scheduled for August, 2025.
Saturday, August 2, Sutter County Airport (O52)
Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1593 is hosting their last Young Eagles event of the summer. Youth ages eight to 17 can experience a free first flight during the event that runs from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Registration is required.
The educational event aims to introduce youth to aviation through an introductory flight that lasts about 15 to 20 minutes, according to information published to the organization’s chapter page.
Following the Young Eagles event, attendees are invited to stay for Sutter County Airport’s Historic Aircraft Display Day. A cheesesteak lunch is available with funds going to scholarships in aviation career paths, according to the announcement.
Saturday, August 2, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Placerville Airport (KPVF)
Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 512 is scheduled to hold their monthly pancake breakfast. No further details were available from the automated calendar.
Sunday, August 10, at Placerville Airport (KPVF)
A Fledgling Ground School is scheduled to start at 1 p.m., according to an announcement on the organization’s web page. No further details were available from the automated calendar.
Wednesday, August 13, Aerospace Museum of California at McClellan (MCC)
The Aerospace Museum of California is partnering with SMUD and the Sacramento County Office of Education to host a back-to-school launch party for educators. The event is open to teachers, homeschool educators, after school instructors, and community educators, according to an announcement from the organization. Attendees will receive a one-year membership to the museum, as well as participation in various activities during the event such as STEM tables, flight simulators, a museum tour, appetizers and refreshments, and workforce development.
The event starts at 5 p.m. and registration is available through SMUD.
Saturday, August 16, Yolo County Airport (DWA)
Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 52 in Sacramento is scheduled to have a monthly pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. No further details were available from the automated calendar.
Saturday, August 16, Little River Airport (LLR)
The Little River Airport Pilot’s Association is joining the Rotary Club of Fort Bragg for the second annual KLLR Fly In, according to a flyer published online. The event starts at 10 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. with a $15 suggested donation, the announcement says. Attendees are encouraged to contact Airport Manager Norm Fluhrer for more information.
Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23, Lincoln Airport (LNK)
The 2025 Wings and Wheels event kicks off Friday, August 22 with a hot air balloon moon glow starting Friday at 5 p.m. The following Saturday, the aviation and car show begins at 6:30 a.m. hot air balloon rise, followed by aircraft and classic car displays, according to event announcements by the City of Lincoln.
Tickets for the Friday balloon glow start at $6.20 for adults 18 an over. All-day Saturday tickets are $11.37 and preferred parking passes can be purchased for $16.55.
A VIP experience, new for 2025, is $82.79 and includes a Friday night dinner, first opportunity to book a tethered balloon flight, full access to the VIP lounge, private VIP entry and parking.
